The Curious Case of Benjamin Button(5)

From the very beginning of this trailer the music used and the clock ticking backwards creates a sense of mystery or wonder that captures the viewer immediately. Certain aspects appeal to certain age groups, for example the love story is more appealing to a middle aged women, while being at war, the whore house, and being on a ship appeals to the male audience. While the trailer gives enough clues to get a general sense of the story line, they leave certain things unsaid, well, makes you want to watch the movie!

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button(4)

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button is a story about a newborn old man who’s growing younger. In this tearjerker, Benjamin Button (Brad Pitt) is placed in the care of Queeny, a maid in a home for the elderly. The movie is told from narrator’s point of view. Being told by doctors that he would not live much longer than his infant years, he lets go of his inhibitions and decides that he wants to experience as many things as possible, from working on a ship at sea to fighting at war and going to a whore house. The movie could not be complete without a love story, he ends up falling in love with one of the resident’s granddaughters, Daisy (Kate Blanchett). For a moment the two lovers overlap and are the same age, they produce a child at this time. However it is only a matter of time before Benjamin Button grows younger and eventually dies as a newborn.
