In the tutorial “The Skunk Ape” I felt like I pretty much knew most of what they were explaining. I honestly lost interest and found it kind of boring/repetitive. The activities they had were helpful and kept me paying attention for a bit. This would be good for students just learning how to use the database.
I knew how to use the database already because I had Emily Vallier last semester and we had a librarian come in and show us how to use and then we were assigned a paper using the database.

I agree, the activities were helpful and added a little more excitement to the tutorial. I also felt like I knew most of the things, but it did remind me of some things I learned a while ago.
ReplyDeleteI had Ms. V for comp 1 also and we had that librarian come in and do a live tutorial. Because we both learned about this in the past, it was kinda boring. But yes, the games did add a little more excitement.
ReplyDeleteYeah most of the tutorial was known that why this tutorial would have been better if it was given to us at beginning of comp 1. I think the video and the game/quiz added wake up in the tutorial than just being plain text were I would have stop reading it or fallen asleep.
